Volunteering

Do you have time to spare?  Would you like to learn about carriage driving, horses, or just add your own experiences to our fabulous team?  Our  volunteers are very important to the RDA.

There are many different ways that you can help, from handling the horses, helping the disabled drivers to mount the carriage, helping to get them ready to drive, driving an escort car, helping with the refreshments or training to be an RDA Whip (driver). Everyone has something to offer.

Fundraising is essential for the group’s survival as all RDA groups are self-funding.  Maybe you have experience with raising funds through donations, sponsors and creating a fundraising day like our annual plant fair.

Our volunteers are very important to us. RDA has a system of awards and members are recognised with certificates for going above and beyond and for long service. It is a small way of saying thank you.

We welcome all who would like have the amazing experience of working with our horses and disabled drivers. It’s a great place to have a coffee and meet new people.  make new friends. We have in group events like a summer drive and picnic and Christmas Lunch.

If you would like to volunteer then please email:
kvdgrda8@gmail.com or telephone 07930 341524

You can also download the New Volunteer form from the RDA here (opens in a new tab).  All volunteers are covered by the group’s insurance once the relevant paperwork has been completed.
